Sub-station staff posts for sale in Tirupati?

Irregularities galore are reported in the recruitment of outsourcing employees for the Tiruchanur electrical sub-station near Tirupati. Some corrupt officials are collecting huge amounts running into several lakhs as bribes for appointing the employees. For the jobs that should actually be recruited by the contractors, the engineers and officials themselves are taking up recruitment.

According to sources, the contract employees at the semi-indoor power stadium works at the Tholappa Garden area have been recruited this way. Sources say that some officials are collecting Rs 5 – 7 lakh per post. Some local TDP leaders and even ministers are also involved in this.

Most jobs are reportedly being given to those from Naravaripalle, the home turf of CM Chandrababu, ignoring locals of Tiruchanur. Some youths have already threatened to stage a dharna in front of the sub-station is injustice is done to them.
