Call to settle disputes amicably through Lok Adalat

Pithapuram: Additional Junior Civil Judge V Divya on Saturday called upon people to use the services of Lok Adalat for speedy justice.

Presiding over a legal awareness programme at China Jaggampet panchayat, she advised villagers against filing cases against each other in a fit of rage. It would land them in problems, she cautioned. She asked the villagers to resolve their problems amicably in the presence of village elders.

Only when villagers have legal awareness then only the number of crimes will come down, she said. Settling disputes through the Lok Adalat, the court fee is waived. Its verdict cannot be challenged in higher courts.
