APSSDC, CII to jointly host Naipunya-2018 to test skills in 26 trades
Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will host its first-ever Andhra Pradesh State Skills Competition 2018, Naipunya, also called the India Skills Andhra Pradesh 2018.

1. Candidates will be selected by conducting two levels of competition at State-level and cluster-level to showcase their skills
2. Top two achievers in each trade are eligible to participate in the State-level competition to be held on May 10 and 11 in Vijayawada
3. Winners at the State-level competition can compete in the regional and national rounds of India Skills during May-July 2018
APSSDC will select the candidates by conducting two levels of competition at state-level and cluster-level. All the competitors can showcase their skills across 26 trades. The 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh are divided into four clusters namely Vijayawada, Tirupati, Anantapur and Visakhapatnam. The cluster-level competition will commence from April 16 in Tirupati, April 19 in Anantapur, April 27 in Visakhapatnam and April 30 in Vijayawada.
Candidates who have achieved top two positions in each skill are eligible to participate in the state-level competition. APSSDC is going to conduct the state-level competition on May 10 and 11 in Vijayawada.
A certificate of participation from the state government will be given to all the competitors. Winners of state skill competition will be given cash prizes and recognition from the state and the industry bodies for their exemplary performance. All the winners of state skill competition can compete in the regional and national rounds of India Skills during May-July 2018. National Skill Development Corporation is the sole authority in hosting India Skills 2018. Winners of India Skills 2018 are eligible for World Skills Competition 2019 to be held in Kazan, Russia.
Eligibility to participate in AP State Skill Competition is that the candidate must be a domicile of Andhra Pradesh and should have been born on or after January 1, 1997. Interested can register online in the portal and April 10, 2018 is the last date for registration, said APSSDC adviser Prasad. He said the motive behind Andhra Pradesh State Skills Competition 2018, Naipunya, is to increase skills among youth along with their academic career.
The Naipunya would also promote image and status of technical and skilled personnel in the state and accord recognition to the special talents and skills of youth, he said. It raises awareness and creates standard of excellence in technical skills through competition and generates greater public awareness and interest in technical education and finally selects highly-skilled youths to represent Andhra Pradesh at regional and national skills competition, he said.
