Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed displeasure over the absence of opposition parties for the second all-party meeting held by State government at Secretariat on Saturday.

The YSRCP, BJP and Jana Sena did not attend the first all party meeting held during the last week of last month, before Chandrababu Naidu proceeded to New Delhi. Now, along with these three political parties, the CPI, CPM and Congress also did not participate in the second all-party meeting.

The opposition parties criticised that it was not a government meeting but it was a political meeting and Chandrababu Naidu organised it for the benefit of TDP only. On the other hand, Chandrababu Naidu insisted that this was not intended to gain political mileage and the opposition parties were misleading the public.

He blamed that the political parties did not bother about the people’s problems and were only doing politics for the sake of politics. Slamming opposition parties for not attending the all-party meeting organised by the Chief Minister, Minister for Agriculture Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy pointed out that those who had earlier demanded that the all-party meeting should be organised, surprisingly skipped the meet..

He said the YSRCP leaders had demanded that the all-party meeting should be conducted by the State government. Skipping the meet only reflected their lack of interest on the Special Category Status. Samatha Party leader Krishna Rao observed that the absence of Left parties for the second all-party meeting was disappointed.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Venkata Ramana also opined that the opposition parties were supposed to attend this meeting and express their views to the government. He wondered why they failed to attend the meeting when the Chief Minister invited them. He said abstaining from the meeting was not a wise move.
