Collector distributes pensions to hijras
District Collector Kona Sasidar has said that the administration will provide minimum facilities to hijras .He distributed pension of Rs 1,500 to hijras at a programme held in the ZP Meeting Hall here on Monday.
Guntur: District Collector Kona Sasidar has said that the administration will provide minimum facilities to hijras .He distributed pension of Rs 1,500 to hijras at a programme held in the ZP Meeting Hall here on Monday.
Speaking on this occasion, he informed that the government was committed for the welfare of hijras.Hijras asked ration cards and houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Sasidhar said that the government was ready to extend helping hand to the hijras.
He said that so far 20 hijras got certificates as hijras and added that the remaining would get certificates soon. If the hijras have house sites, he would sanction houses under the Collector Quota. If they don’t have house sites, the administration would acquire lands and allot house sites.
He assured that the government would sanction ration cards and added that hijras were part of society. He said that the government would extend cooperation to hijras to get employment and assured that he would take steps to sanction loans through the banks.
