Superintendent of King George Hospital (KGH) Dr G Arjuna inaugurated the bio-safety cabinet at Clinical Laboratory in Microbiology Department on Wednesday which procured at a cost of Rs 5 lakh. The equipment is useful in preserving blood sera samples and bacteriological processing and to improve the accuracy of tests and also to prevent the spread of infection to the doctors and paramedical staff

Visakhapatnam: Superintendent of King George Hospital (KGH) Dr G Arjuna inaugurated the bio-safety cabinet at Clinical Laboratory in Microbiology Department on Wednesday which procured at a cost of Rs 5 lakh. The equipment is useful in preserving blood sera samples and bacteriological processing and to improve the accuracy of tests and also to prevent the spread of infection to the doctors and paramedical staff working in the laboratory.

Professor and Head of the Department of Microbiology Dr P Appa Rao thanked the Superintendent of KGH for providing bio-safety cabinet which is required for NABH/NABL accreditation. DCSRMO Dr KSLG Sastry, Professor of Microbiology Dr P Kamala, Assistant Professor Dr N Lakshmi, ARMOs Dr B Bangarayya and Dr Ch Sadhana were present.

At another programme, Visakhapatnam South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar inaugurated the Sonosite high end ultrasound machine with three different probes at IRCU in emergency medicine block, KGH. The equipment cost is Rs 19 lakh.The equipment is useful for patients. Dr G Arjuna, Superintendent, KGH, and Dr PV Sudhakar, Principal, Andhra Medical College, were present.
