Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has promised that the State government will implement the valuable suggestions taken from the Happy Cities Summit in building the Amaravati capital.
​Mangalagiri: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has promised that the State government will implement the valuable suggestions taken from the Happy Cities Summit in building the Amaravati capital.
Participating as chief guest in valedictory of the Summit on Thursday, Naidustated that constructing greenfield city is a rare opportunity for any state and the Andhra Pradesh got this opportunity.
Naidu said that he had rich experience of constructing brownfield city Cyberabad but this greenfield city construction is altogether a new experience and needed more efforts here. Observing that Singapore city was enjoying high security and good liveable conditions, he said Finland and Netherland also have wonderful cities.
Though Japan has high living standards, the happiness was missing in the citizens, which needed serious attention, he added. Stating all the rich persons and poor were not happy, Naidu stated though the poorest of poor in AP were living in huts in forest areas, they were leading a happy life. At the same time, the richest persons were worrying more for materialistic things, he added.
He appreciated the participants of Pitch Competitions where the participants presented innovative ideas. The CRDA entered memorandum of understanding with winners in the competition and Naidu directed them to start working from now onwards.
During the end of the summit, Naidu also launched Happy Cities Innovation Lab, which will encourage the talent. Loh Ah Tuan, member, panel of experts CLC, Singapore, stated that theSummit gave good suggestions to policy makers across the globe.
He informed they are going to conduct the same summit in Singapore in June and invited the delegates to participate in the meet.
Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner, UK, gave concluding remarks for the Summit.
Mariela Cruz Alvarez, Ambassador of Costa Rica to India opined that when compared with New Delhi’s pollution, the environment in Amaravati gave happiness to her. VaradPande, Partner and Practice Lead – Public Policy Dalberg explained Finland is going to play crucial role in education sector in AP, while giving summary of the Summit.
In the programme, he released a book on AP Land Pooling Scheme namely “Innovative and inclusive Land pooling Scheme” and saluted the farmers for giving 33,000 acres of land for constructing the capital city. In the three-day summit, 125 delegates from 15 countries including Singapore, UK, the US, Finland, Costa Rica, Columbia and Bhutan participated along with 1,500 delegates from across the state and country.
Naidu invites innovative ideas
In the valedictory summit, the Chief Minister requested the talented people across the world to come and join in building Amaravati.
Naidu promised that he would encourage the innovative ideas and everyone could be proud in the success of Amaravati, if they participate in its development.
Announcing that the Amaravati will be made as Innovation Valley, Naidu wished that every innovation must come from Amaravati.
As the CRDA adopted the innovative ideas suggested by the Summit, the state government will take and encourage them, he added.
