MP, MLA stage novel protest
In a novel protest, Eluru MP Maganti Venkateswara Rao (Babu), Ungutur MLA Ganni Veeranjaneyulu and other TDP workers whipped themselves demanding that the Centre accord Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh.

The MP and MLA performed special prayers at the village deities’ temples in Bhimadole for SCS on Thursday.The leaders and workers of TDP took out a rally in the village and reached Santa Market and garlanded the statue of NT Rama Rao.
Later, the MP and MLA whipped themselves by pleading the deities to atone their wrong deeds. They bang the dappu, which they claimed that it would found its echo in Delhi for Special Category StatusThe Eluru MP said that Andhra people will defeat the BJP in Karnataka elections.
