A second year B Tech student of GITAM University and NCC Cadet Yuvaraj Singh selected by National Cadet Cops (NCC), New Delhi, to tour Kazakhstan for 14 days in Youth Exchange Programme (YEP). 

Visakhapatnam: A second year B Tech student of GITAM University and NCC Cadet Yuvaraj Singh selected by National Cadet Cops (NCC), New Delhi, to tour Kazakhstan for 14 days in Youth Exchange Programme (YEP).

He is the only NCC Cadet selected from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states under YEP. Yuvaraj Singh is the best cadet at the state-level, who participated in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi this year. The tour to Kazakhstan will start from May 13.

India has a youth exchange tie-up with 10 friendly nations, including Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Singapore, Vietnam, Turkmenistan and Russia. The selected NCC cadets will participate in NCC activities of the host country to create an increased awareness and appreciation of each other’s socio-economic and cultural realities.

Looking forward to the learning and exposure from the programme, Yuvaraj Singh said that the opportunity would bring great exposure to him as he would get a chance to visit a new country, enhance his knowledge and interact with cadets and dignitaries of other countries. “Since I joined NCC, it was my long dream to attend YEP”, Yuvraj said on his achievement.

Appreciating the student, GITAM Vice-Chancellor Prof MS Prasada Rao said that Yuvaraj Singh made the university proud and expressed his hope that he would do well during the visit. University Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof K Sivarama Krishna, GIT Principal Prof K Lakshmiprasad, NCC Officer Capt Dr B Srinivasa Rao congratulated him.
