I’ll decide who should be PM after 2019 election: Naidu

Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is also taking hunger strike route to voice his strong protest against Modi dispensation for denying Special Category Status for AP and going back on the assurances made in the AP State Reorganisation Act.

He has chosen his birthday -April 20 - to go on hunger strike for a day the way Modi went on fast to protest against disruption of the budget session of Parliament for which he has blamed the Opposition.

He will follow up on his hunger strike by addressing a public meeting at Tirupati on April 30 to drive home the point that the BJP had betrayed the people of the state unmindful of the fact that the state needed hand-holding from the Centre since it had lost everything at the time of bifurcation.

He chose Tirupati because it was here that the Prime Minister promised Special Category Status and help for the construction of a capital that would be much better than Delhi.

Speaking at the Babasaheb BR Ambedkar's 127th birth anniversary at Inavolu in Amaravati, Naidu said that if the Congress had ruined the state, BJP had further destroyed whatever was left. "The Prime Minister first promised SCS and then said it was not possible and in its place offered special package. Finally, even that was not delivered and now they are speaking about special purpose vehicle," Naidu said.

Training his guns at the Prime Minister, Naidu wondered what purpose Modi's one-day hunger strike had severed. You have gone hunger strike for the washout of Parliament session.

But who is responsible for it? It was you only,": he said and sounded warning to him that he would be playing a key role in national politics after 2019 elections. "I will decide who should be the prime minister after the election and which party should be in power," Naidu said at a public meeting for the first time though he was making these comments with his confidants. "I am sure the BJP would not get majority of seats in Loik Sabha this time," he said.

He recalled TDP was playing key role in deciding who should be the prime minister or the president or the speaker of Lok Sabha in the past and this will repeat in 2019.
Chandrababu Naidu came down heavily on Modi for trying to dabble in Tamil Nadu-style politics in Andhra Pradesh.

"The BJP wants a weak leader like YS Jaganmohan Reddy as the chief minister in the state and that was the reason why it was encouraging YSRC despite the fact that he was neck deep in cases," Naidu said and ridiculed Modi for saying that he was not discriminatory against southern states and pointed out that AP was a classic example of what discimiantion by the Centre is.
