Bicycle shortage in AP

After staying away from the joint opposition sponsored bandh for special status for AP, Chandrababu Naidu has now unveiled plans for counter moves. He is going to do a day-long deeksha and a sub-committee has been set up to organize this deeksha.

At the same time, there would be mass fasts in all the 175 constituencies of the state, following which there would be bicycle rallies across the state. The TDP is planning bicycle ralies in every village to support Chandrababu. The bicycle rally will also help in popularizing TDP election symbol.

So far so good! But herein lies the problem. Most TDP workers have lost the practice of riding bicycles has they own swank cars and have confined themselves to AC rooms. The second biggest problem is the shortage of bicycles in the market. With cycle users coming down drastically due to automobile boom, not enough bicycles are available in the market. Happy vendors are now trying to procure bicycles from wherever they are available to make a quick buck.
