Ganta launches ‘Chandranna Pelli Kanuka’
Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao launched the Chandranna Pelli Kanuka (CM’s marriage gift) scheme in the district on Saturday. In order to promote inter-caste marriages, the state government launched the scheme.
Visakhapatnam: Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao launched the Chandranna Pelli Kanuka (CM’s marriage gift) scheme in the district on Saturday. In order to promote inter-caste marriages, the state government launched the scheme. The HRD Minister presented the cash award as an incentive and marriage registration certificate to a newly married couple here on Saturday at Sri Varahalakshmi Nrusimha Swamy temple, Simhachalam.
In order to help the poor at the time of marriages, the Chief Minister introduced the scheme. Under the scheme, the government will give Rs 75,000 to the SC/ST youth when they marry inter-caste persons, similarly, for BCs it is Rs 35,000 and for others Rs 30,000, the minister explained. The government also appointed ‘Kalyana Mitra’ and the newly married couple can avail the opportunity by applying for the cash incentives, he added.
