Visakhapatnam: Taking the lead on the issue of cyber security, Andhra Pradesh government and Mastercard have decided to jointly organise Andhra Pradesh Cyber Security Summit at FinTech Valley in Visakhapatnam on April 27 and 28.

The summit will bring together global leaders on cyber security to create a knowledge pool, build mitigation strategies and discuss future responses to safeguard countries, organisations and individuals.

This summit is a part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) reached between the State government and Mastercard to implement the best practices on cyber security. Over 300 delegates representing regulatory and law enforcement agencies, think-tanks, start-ups, consultancies, academia, technology and cyber security companies will take part in the summit.

The summit would explain the shared vision of the State government and Mastercard to create a robust cyber ecosystem, wherein people and businesses can safely transact online without worrying about the safety of their finances, identity and other personal data.

Minister for IT Nara Lokesh, Special Chief Secretary and IT Advisor to Chief Minister J A Chowdary and Rebecca Ledingham, Vice President, Security Decisioning and Products of Mastercard, will address the summit.

In an official release on Monday, Minister Nara Lokesh said that the government’s vision is to establish Andhra Pradesh as a global FinTech innovation hub and cyber security is an important aspect of this journey. The strategic partnership with Mastercard is an important step to devise strategies and solutions in the direction, the Minister added.

Ravi Aurora, Senior Vice President, Global Community Relations, Mastercard, said that the Mastercard uses its technology as a force for good and drives partnerships that help in creation of a digitally empowered cashless society in India.

The summit would encourage many new initiatives in the cyber security space that also help in the creation of a digitally-empowered cashless society, he added.
