Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy predicted that 2019 general elections would be the last for Telugu Desam Party national president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Nellore: Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy predicted that 2019 general elections would be the last for Telugu Desam Party national president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Mekapati received a grand welcome from the YSR Congress leaders and activists when he returned to the district after taking part in a hunger strike in New Delhi for the Special Status as part of the party’s decision.
YSRCP leaders arranged banners, hoardings, posters and road-side flex boards to extend warm welcome to the MP in the city. YSR Congress activists and legislators took out a rally in the city from the railway station to party office. Mekapati garlanded the statues of Potti Sriramulu and Mahatma Gandhi during the rally.
Addressing the party activists on the occasion, Mekapati alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the first accused and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is the second accused as they failed to respect sentiments of the people for Special Category Status to the state.
He pointed out that the BJP also had a role in State bifurcation. “The YSR Congress has been fighting against the Central government for Special Category Status. Eleven States have been benefitted with the Status,” the MP pointed out.
He said that his party would continue its fight to achieve Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had betrayed AP people, Mekapati however condemned the comments made by film actor and Hindupur MLA N Balakrishna against the Prime Minister. He wondered why Balakrishna does not exercise restraint while addressing public meetings.
