Zonal-level workers sports meet inaugurated

Srikakulam: Sports and games relieve one of stress, opined Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy. He inaugurated the zonal-level workers sports meet here on Wednesday, which were organised jointly by the labour department and workers welfare council (WWC).

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector lauded efforts of labour department and WWC members in conducting the sports meet. Sports and games will rejuvenate the workers in various public and private units, shops and establishments from work pressure. He appealed to the workers to participate in games and sports as they will not only relieve of them from stress but also builds up stamina.

Joint commissioner of labour department MSV Reddy suggested to workers and their unions to conduct this kind of activities occasionally which will would create healthy climate among workers at their work places. Winners of the zonal-level sports meet are eligible to participate at state-level sports and games meet which will be held in Vijayawada from 27 April, joint commissioner said. Workers from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts participated in sports and games.
