Vijayawada: Congress senior leader C Ramachandraiah criticised Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for mobilising public for the proposed public meeting to be held in Tirupati on April 30.

Speaking to media here on Friday, he said the Chief Ministerhoodwinked the people by accepting special package instead of Special Category Status (SCS). The SCS issue was diluted with the different stands taken by the Chief Minister and demanded Naidu to tender apology to public first for changing his stand.

The Chief Minister wants to recall the assurances of the Prime Minister only through this public meeting, he said but the people were not interested to participate in the meeting of Naidu as they fed up with his double talk on SCS.

Stating that the Congress party found fault with the Governor’s controversial role in the past, he said and added there was no point in Chief Minister raising this issue now.

He demanded Naidu to give explanation to the criticism by Justice Eswaraiah against Telugu Desamparty’s role in the appointment of judges withoutgiving opportunity to the backward classes.
