Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has gave assurance to the 108 medical service staff over increase of their wages. The 108 staff were agitating for some days demanding the government to increase their wages.

A delegation led by 108 Contract Employees Association president Balli Kiran Kumar met the Chie Minister at Secretariat on Friday. They said that emergency medical technicians were being paid Rs 11,500 and pilots being paid Rs 10,500. Kiran Kumar requested the Chief Minister to increase the wages by 50 per cent or increase at least Rs 4,000 on lines of Telangana government.

Responding to this, the Chief Minister said the government would permit the 108 staff to work in two shifts but not possible to allow 8 hours duty system. He said the government would pursue the increase of wages and the 108 staff should work with dedication to deliver better services to people. Chief Minister’s secretary GirijaSankar, medial and health principal secretary P Malakondiah were present.
