Farmer, who attempted suicide, dies
A farmer Kuppa Reddy (57), who attempted suicide by consuming pesticide at the Collectorate on Monday, died while undergoing treatment at SVRR Ruia Government Hospital here on Thursday. Reddy was from Kothavepakuppam village in Ramachandrapuram mandal in Chittoor district.
Tirupati: A farmer Kuppa Reddy (57), who attempted suicide by consuming pesticide at the Collectorate on Monday, died while undergoing treatment at SVRR Ruia Government Hospital here on Thursday. Reddy was from Kothavepakuppam village in Ramachandrapuram mandal in Chittoor district.
Reddy was allegedly upset at the apathy of mandal revenue officials in getting back his lands measuring about 3.5 acre including DKT and Patta which was taken over by his relatives in the village. The relatives angered over Kuppam Reddy's daughter Lakshmi marrying a person belonging to Scheduled Caste.
Reddy attempted suicide when the weekly grievance day was in progress in the Collectorate by consuming pesticide, in Chittoor on last Monday. He was rushed to government hospital in Chittoor. Later, he was shifted to Ruia Hospital where the farmer breathed last after battling for life for four days.
