Parvathipuram (Vizianagaram): Minister for Information Technology and Panchayat Raj N Lokesh has said that the AP government has been giving top priority to generate new jobs in various sectors. Srikakulam district will provide more jobs in food processing sectors and Vizag will be the centre for IT sector.

The minister visited Parvathipuram town of Vizianagaram district and participated in various programmes on Thursday. He laid foundation stone for ITDA office complex here and later he interacted with youth who are being trained to face various competitive examinations like RRB and bank jobs. ‘Our aim is to provide one lakh jobs in IT sector by the end of 2019. Even the smaller cities are also growing up to attract IT firms.

Major mobile manufacture firms are going to establish their units in the state. At the same time, youth should concentrate developing on their own rather than depending on the government for jobs. They should try to be entrepreneurs and start their own firms and businesses. At the same time, we are trying to recruit locals in the companies which are being established in the districts,’’ he said.

“Just because of the efforts taken up by N Chandrababu Naidu, around six lakh jobs were created in united AP. But unfortunately, most of the IT firms were remained with Telangana. A BPO firm is going to be opened at Bhogapuram soon, in which about 1,000 jobs would be created. Every house will be connected with drinking water tap within a month. Even we are providing all basic facilities. Roads will be provided by spending Rs.4,500 crores,’’ he said.

The minister said, ``The union government has betrayed the people of AP. They assured us on 18 important schemes and projects but even after four years, they didn't implement those promises. We are vexed with the attitude of the Union government, finally our ministers stepped out of the cabinet and expressed our protest.’’

Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu is working for the welfare of AP even at the age of 67 years. So the people should bless us. We have constructed 49 lakhs of toilets all over AP by spending Rs.4,400 crore and laid 17,000 km of CC roads in 4 years,’’ he added. Minister for Mines and Geology RVSK Ranga Rao, Collector Vivek Yadav, ZP Chairperson S Swathi Rani, MLAs and others participated in the programme.
