Nearly the people of 19 Girijan tandas have been suffering from kidney-related diseases. The government identified the situation and sanctioned RO water plants in 10 Girijan tandas.
District Collector B Lakshmikantham reviewed here on Friday the facilities which are being provided for 19 Girijan tandas in Krishna district. The people of Girijan tandas are being provided health facilities and pure drinking water, he said.
Moreover, the Collector instructed the officials of excise department to take action against the arrack manufacturing units in the tandas. The Collector said that the excise department already conducted raids on illegal arrack business and situation is under control. The health condition of people of Girijan tandas is also improving, he said.
He said the government would provide better health facilities at private hospitals also to the girijans and already the private hospital managements and Lions Club came forward to extend the medical facilities to them. Several officials were also present in the meeting.
