The leaders were a bit shocked at the TDP meeting titled as `NammakaDroham –KutraRajakiyalapai Dharma Poratam (Holy war on betrayal and conspiracy politics) at Tirupati, the very same place where Modi reportedlypromised `Special Category Status’ to AP.
BJP MLCs Somu Veerraju andPVN Madhav, at a media conference held here on Sunday, a day ahead of TDP public meeting, said that Chief Minister Naidu was a violator as he did not fulfil even a single promise among the 600 made during the TDP election manifesto.
The twoleaders dared Chief Minister to answer their 10 questionson various issues including Polavaram Dam, Centre’s assistance to recover revenue deficit and also with regard to setting up of national institutions, projects etc.
Even the DISCOM loses, pensions and waiving of farmers’ loans wereincluded in the revenue deficit, but the Centre provided Rs 16,000 crore, they said. The two leaders said that Chief Minister vociferously supported special package instead of SCS in the Assembly and also outside and even went to the extent of declaring SCS as aclosed chapter and also warned that he will jail anyone who rakes upSCS.
Later, he took a U turn and trying to make it as sentimental issue of Telugus. “Eighty eight percent of Rs 1,050 released by the Centre for backwardareas development is remainingas unspent. Chief Minister is fearing that the people, opposition and the Centre willquestion him on corruption. So, he planned DharmaPoratam meeting,’’ the BJP leaders alleged.
