3 die, 10 hurt in road mishap
Three pilgrims coming from Salem, Tamil Nadu to Tirumala in a tempo traveller died on the spot and 10 others sustained injuries in a road accident occurred near Sankampalli on Tirupati-Chittoor highway in Pakala mandal in the early hours of Sunday.

A tempo traveller and a Bolero van collided head-on leading to the death of three on the spot. The deceased were including tempo traveller driver Venkatachalam (35), Kanmani (32) and Lokesh (14) in the ill-fated vehicle.
According to Pakala police, the over-speeding Bolero van driver lost control and hit the tempo traveller leading to the death of three and injuring ten others. Bolero van driver sped away, leaving behind the mangled vehicle after the mishap. The injured were admitted in SVRR government hospital and the bodies were sent to hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
