SP felicitates sportsman Satwik Sairaj
District Superintendent of Police Vishal Gunni on Sunday announced that he would arrange a district-level friendly cricket match between the police and journalists soon in Kakinada.
Kakinada: District Superintendent of Police Vishal Gunni on Sunday announced that he would arrange a district-level friendly cricket match between the police and journalists soon in Kakinada.
He appreciated journalist cricket team members who were going to participate the fourth edition of state-level journalist cricket tournament at Visakhapatnam from May 14. In this connection, Gunni presented a cricket kit to the journalists. Speaking on this occasion, the SP advised the journalists to practice well and wished them succeed and bring laurels to the district in cricket.
At another programme at the District Police Office, Gunni felicitated Rankireddy Satwik Sairaj who won a gold medal in the mixed team event in badminton sport in the recently concluded Commonwealth games in Australia.
Speaking on this occasion, the SP said that they were proud that Satwik belonged to this district (Amalapuram town). He hoped that Satwik Sairaj would win a gold medal for India in the 2020 Olympic Games which would be held at Tokyo in Japan.
In this connection, the SP presented a cash prize of Rs 10,000 from his pocket to Satwik.The East Godavari Olympic Association president, Chundru Govinda Rajulu and secretary K Padmanabham presented a gold ring to the medal winner Satwik.District Olympic Patron Prasad Varma, Joint Secretary Dr Spardhan Raju, V Ravi Raju, Tatabbai and others participated.
