Special Status Demand: YSRCP launch Vanchana Vyatireka Deeksha in Visakhapatnam

Protesting against BJP and TDP over the demand of Special Category Status (SCS) for AP, YSR Congress Party leaders on Monday staged protest and observed Anti Betrayal Day (Vanchana Vyatireka Deeksha) in front of women's college in Visakhapatnam.

The Deeksha was launched by YSRCP Member of Parliament (MP) Mekapati while the party MPs and MLAs participated in the protest wearing black shirts.

Addressing the media, YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu hit out at the BJP leaders for spreading false rumours over the special status mentioning that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party President Pawan Kalyan assured Special Category Status for AP.

He further said that it unfortunate that the BJP leaders have created a new drama saying the party never gave an assurance regarding the SCS.

YSRCP MP Vijaysai Reddy pointed out that only his party has been fighting for special status from the beginning. Accusing PM Modi of not fulfilling the promises, he blamed Chandrababu for making U turns regarding the special status issue.

The YSRCP leader said that they are taking up the agitation today as it is the day on which PM promised SCS to AP.
