Amaravati: As part of its preparations for 2019 general elections, the Telugu Desam Party will hold a massive public meeting (Dharma Porata Sabha) in Tirupati on Monday from where Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is expected to launch an all-out attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi exposing the ‘collusion’ between the BJP and YSR Congress.

The Chief Minister has deliberately chosen Tarakarama stadium in Tirupati from where Narendra Modi as BJP’s prime ministerial candidate spoke and made promises, including the Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh in 2014. As the TDP is considering this as a preparatory meeting for the next general elections, the Chief Minister himself is monitoring the arrangements. The TDP is mobilising people from Kadapa, Nellore and Anantapur districts. Party sources said the party will conduct such meetings once in a month in all districts later.

Though the Telugu Desam Party is claiming that the Tirupati public meeting is aimed at creating awareness among the public over the betrayal of the NDA government which denied the Special Category Status to the state and not implementing the AP Reorganisation Act, the Chief Minister is likely to focus mainly on the ‘collusion’ between the BJP and YSRCP.

The Chief Minster has already said that the BJP and the YSR Congress are in hurry to strike a pre-poll alliance. He also said the BJP had allowed the TDP to leave the NDA to encourage the YSR Congress as it feels that it will be easy to deal with that party as the YSRC chief is an accused in several cases.

The Chief Minister is likely to attack Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, who has raised his voice against Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh. Party sources said the Chief Minister will ask Telugu people in Karnataka not to vote for the BJP in the ensuing Assembly elections.

Over 10 LED screens will be arranged at the public meeting and the Chief Minister will make presentations using videos of Narendra Modi to explain how the BJP had betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh.

BJP flays Babu Meanwhile, the BJP has objected to the TDP playing the victim role. BJP leader K Haribabu asked why Chandrababu Naidu was referring to CBI cases.

“People are doubting Chandrababu Naidu’s clean image with his frequent references to the CBI,” he said. Though leaders in the Central government are not talking about Naidu, why is he talking about the cases and why is he making assertions that he is not afraid of any one,” Haribabu wondered.

On the other hand, the YSR Congress will organize “Vanchana Vyathireka Deeksha” in Visakhapatnam on Monday itself to expose Chandrababu Naidu’s dubious role in fighting against the Centre.
