One killed in faction attack
One person lost his life while his father sustained injuries in the attack by opponents in a faction war in Prakasam district. According to the Darsi DSP K Nageswara Rao, Kristipati Vengala Reddy and his son Kondareddy, natives of Edara village, returning to their native place on motorcycle after attending Darsi court in a case on Monday.
Darsi: One person lost his life while his father sustained injuries in the attack by opponents in a faction war in Prakasam district. According to the Darsi DSP K Nageswara Rao, Kristipati Vengala Reddy and his son Kondareddy, natives of Edara village, returning to their native place on motorcycle after attending Darsi court in a case on Monday.
When they reached Ramanareddy vari Palem, four people on two bikes hit them and attacked with sickles and knives. As the victims’ shout for help, after observing people coming to them from fields, the attackers left the place.
After receiving information from locals, the police reached the spot to find Kondareddy dead and shifted Vengala Reddy to Darsi government hospital. The police said that the father and son had disputes with cousins over property for a long time and the both parties already put up cases on each other earlier.
