Speaking on the occasion, Eleesha said that Buddha Purnima was celebrated to commemorate the birth of Goutama Buddha. It is also celebrated in south and South-East Asia as Vesak, which also acknowledges the enlightenment and death of Buddha, he said.
He informed the gathering that 2,000 covers were released in the state and were available at Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Kurnool. He expressed happiness to release special cover, which costs Rs 10.
