Beach Corridor to be developed
The 30 km long Beach Corridor would be developed soon at a cost of Rs 240 crore from Coastal Battery to Bheemili, said GVMC Commissioner M Hari Narayanan while conducting a review meeting here on Wednesday.

The officials from Traffic, GVMC, Visakha Port Trust, Indian Navy, Andhra Pradesh Forest Department, Visakha Urban Development Authority (VUDA), APSRTC, Tourism and other department officials were present.
As the city is growing rapidly, the GVMC authorities and state government came up with a new project to develop the infrastructure on the Beach Road to attract more tourists. Similarly, the GVMC also decided to beautify the Beach Corridor.
These works would be carried out jointly by the Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation (GVMC), INR Design Studios Private Limited (INR SSPL) from Ahmedabad, World Bank and ADPRP. Speaking on the occasion, GVMC Commissioner M Hari Narayanan said that the officials of various departments studied the Detailed Project Report (DPR), which was presented by the Harish Goyal ( INR SSPL) with a PowerPoint presentation of the project, the duties of various departments and their role and duties were determined in the presentation.
The project works may be grounded either in July or August. The INR SSPL officials explained about the beautification works with the help of maps. He also added that the State and Central government are keen to develop the Beach Corridor in Visakhapatnam as the city was turned into a perfect destination for the tourists.
The Commissioner took the feed-back from all the department officials regarding the PPT and urged the various department officials to cooperate with project developers and finish the project as earlier as possible.
