The students of PG English can explore a number of opportunities in the corporate world particularly in technical writing, said GITAM School of Gandhian Studies Centre for Languages English Department head Dr Rositta Joseph.
Visakhapatnam: The students of PG English can explore a number of opportunities in the corporate world particularly in technical writing, said GITAM School of Gandhian Studies Centre for Languages English Department head Dr Rositta Joseph.
Addressing the students here on Thursday at GITAM campus, she mentioned that technical writing is a highly paid profession today and universities in the country started offering technical writing as a part of the PG English curriculum.
She said that the technical writers help to make information more useable and accessible to those who need that information particularly software instructions help the users to be more successful in using software, medical instructions give guidance to patients and care-givers, training programmes help people to improve their skills, well-designed websites help users and companies.
She informed that good communication skills, a PG degree in English with an exposure to the field of technical communication and the zeal and determination to work hard and keep up to date with technology and these qualities can pave the way for satisfying and lucrative careers.
