Amaravati: Minister for municipal administration P Narayana said the construction of roads and quarters for staff would be completed by next March with an outlay of Rs 22,000 crore.

Inspecting the ongoing works of roads and staff quarters along with the higher officials in Amaravati capital location here on Thursday, Narayana said the designs for High Court building in Amaravati would be completed by May and tender process would be finalised by July.

The designs for Assembly buildings and tender process would also be finalised soon, he said and added that layouts were completed for 29 villages in the state and other infrastructure facilities would be provided in six villages.

Narayana said the roads were being laid for a length of 320km and all the roads would be completed by March. He said 16 roads were being laid from north to south and 18 roads were being built from east to west.

The roads, sewerage, drinking water, underground cable network and gas pipeline works were being completed along with road project simultaneously, he said.

The government was making all efforts to provide facilities in Amaravati city on par with international standards, he said and added the government was constructing 3,820 quarters with shear wall technology and the quarters would be completed by March.

He said that only cement and iron were being used under the technology and no bricks will be used in the construction. Amaravati Development Corporation chairperson Lakshmi Parthasarathy Bhaskar and several officials were also present.
