KLU announces cash prize for top 20 rankers

Vijayawada: Koneru Laxmaiah Deemed to be University (KLU) engineering entrance examination results were announced by KLU vice-president Koneru Raja Hareen through online here on Thursday.
The first rank was secured by Ch Venugopal from Sri Chaitanya College in Vijayawada. Addressing the media, Raja Hareen congratulated all the rank holders and said that the examinations were held across the country in two phases and the students who qualified can log on to the official website for details. He informed the media that the counseling for admission would be held between May 10 and 14.
He said on May 10, counseling will be held for all categories like SC/ ST/ OBS/ Sports/ NCC/ Single girl child, from rank 1 to 30,000 of KLU entrance examination, Eamcet ranks below 40,000, candidates who qualified in JEE and candidates who secured more than 950 marks in Intermediate can attend the counseling.
On May 11, counseling will be held for candidates belonging to open category in both forenoon and afternoon sessions, he said and announced 100 per cent scholarship for students who secured 1 to 20 ranks. KLU Vice-Chancellor Dr LSS Reddy said students who had secured top ranks in KLU, Eamcet, JEE and Intermediate examinations will be given priority in the admission process.
KLU Director Srinivas said Ch Venugopal from Vijayawada secured All India first rank, R V Bharat Reddy from Nellore secured second rank and KVR Hemanth from Vizag secured third rank. He announced cash prize of Rs 25 lakh for the students who secured 1 to 20 ranks.
