Roja stages dharna at Government General Hospital, arrested, released

Guntur: YSRCP MLA K Roja on Friday staged dharna in front of the Government General Hospital in city demanding stern action against the accused in the minor girl’s rape case in Dachepalli.

She came down heavily on the government for its failure to take action against the rapists. She raised slogans against the government for its failure to give protection to women.

When she staged dharna along with other YSRCP leaders, vehicular traffic came to a standstill on both sides at the GGH near flyover bridge. The police officials requested her not to create problem to the traffic. When she ignored the police warning, they whisked away her. Later freed.

Earlier,addressing media, she alleged that there is no protection to women in the TDP government, that is why CM family members are staying in Hyderabad and criticised that Home Minister China Rajappa confined to the home.

She criticised that the latter has failed to as a Home Minister and not in a position to take action against the rapists in the state. Earlier, she went to the GGH and consoled the victim and her family members. Later, she staged dhara at the GGH.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Nimmkayala Chinarajappa consoled the rape victim undergoing treatment in the GGH and inquired about her health condition. Speaking to media he said that the police officials formed 15 special teams to arrest the accused Subbaiah in the minor girl rape in Dachepalli.
