Tirupati: CPI district secretary A Rama Naidu criticised the government for extending the deputation period of IAS officer K Srinivasa Raju working as TTD Joint Executive Officer at Tirumala, even after he completed seven years of service in the same place.

In a press release here on Friday, Rama Naidu said that common pilgrims were in no way benefited in Raju’s seven year-long service as Tirumala JEO and it was only the bigwigs, influential persons, and corporates were the real beneficiaries as it was for these affluent sections Raju rolled out red carpet welcome and provided all facilities for accommodation and darshan in Tirumala.

Further, Raju never bothered about the 5,000 employees working on contract basis and are mainly responsible for Tirumala cleanliness, better up keep and greenery, he said. He also suspected the hand of Raju’s in investing TTD funds in private banks and also misuse of TTD funds. He wondered how the government could extend the service of such a person in Tirumala.
