Cricket betting gang busted
The Task Force sleuths nabbed a cricket bookie and 11 members here on Thursday. On a tip-off, they conducted a raid led by ACP T Muralidhar.
Vijayawada: The Task Force sleuths nabbed a cricket bookie and 11 members here on Thursday. On a tip-off, they conducted a raid led by ACP T Muralidhar.
They nabbed 12 members who were engaged in cricket betting.Police seized Rs 1,00,500 cash, 15 cell phones, six two-wheelers and one 24 inch television from a flat in the Currency Nagar here.
The organiser of the cricket betting was identified as Kelly Chandra Mohan of Vijayawada. The other 11 members were also from Vijayawada who were involved in cricket betting as a hobby and to gain money. The betting was organised through a cricket app (online betting).
The Task Force officials handed over the 12 members cricket betting gang to Patamata police. East Task Force team-2 CI R Suresh Reddy, along with the 10-member task force team, were present.
