Fine imposed on 730 traffic violators
The city police conducted checks at 17 junctions between 9 am and 1 pm on Friday and booked cases for driving without helmet and not carrying relevant vehicle documents.
Vijayawada: The city police conducted checks at 17 junctions between 9 am and 1 pm on Friday and booked cases for driving without helmet and not carrying relevant vehicle documents. About 588 people were found riding without helmet and 142 people were caught without carrying relevant documents and fines were imposed as per the Motor Vehicle Act, according to Traffic In-Charge DCP T Ramprasad Rao.
He said that checks were conducted at Sitammavari Padalu, Kummaripalem, Gaddabomma Centre, Radio Station, Vijayakrishna Supermarket, Ramgopal Street, Kanakadurga Varadhi, Chinnavantena Centre, Swarna Palace Centre, Pipula Road, Chuttugunta Centre, FCI Godown, NTR Circle, Benz Circle, Krishna Nagar Centre, Veterinary Junction and Ramesh Hospital and 730 people were caught for not following traffic rules and fines were imposed. Traffic ADCP Nagaraju, Traffic 1 ACP Murali Krishna, Traffic 2 ACP D Sravan Kumar, Traffic 3 ACP Ramesh and others were present.
