Nellore: A pall of gloom descended on the family from Warangal when a 7-year-old girl died after she fell off a moving train near Kavali Railway Station in the early hours of Friday.

The incident took place between Kavali and Venkateswarapalem railway stations at 5.15 am. Nagalapati Rohita Reddy (7) was travelling from Kummarapalli Gandhi Nagar in Hanmakonda to Tirupati which is her native place along with parents Bhanuprakash Reddy and Hemalatha by Yeswanthapur Express on S6 coach.

The family belongs to Padmavathi Nagar in MR Palli area of Tirupati. The train reached to Kavali station at 5.15 am and the girl went to toilet in the early hours with her mother Hemalatha and accidentally Rohitha slipped into the vestibule due to sudden jerk. Immediately, Hemalatha has screamed for help. Parents of the kid pulled the chain and informed railway police.

They identified dead body of Rohitha 2 km away from the place where they stopped train at Vennkateswarapalem railway station and shifted her body to Kavali area hospital. Further, moved the dead body to Nellore Government Hospital for post-mortem. Railway Police filed a case over the incident. The family was travelling to Tirupati along with their daughter for spending time in their native place during summer vacation.
