Railway officials rescue runaway children
South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav said that the railway officials were doing their best with the help of Childline-1098 to rescue children who run away from their home due to several reasons.
Vijayawada: South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav said that the railway officials were doing their best with the help of Childline-1098 to rescue children who run away from their home due to several reasons.
The General Manager visited Vijayawada Railway Station on Friday, along with Childline staff and Vijayawada DRM Dhanunjay. DRM Dhanunjay explained the General Manager about the various activities of Childline workers to rescue the children, who land in the Vijayawada Railway Station.
The DRM also told the General Manager Vinod Kumar that on an average about 60 children per month were being rescued with the initiative taken by Childline, the railway officers and the police and handed over children safely to their parents through the Child Welfare Committee.
The GM appreciated the team work and the service in rescuing the children by Childline, railway officers and police. ADRM Sumana, ADRM-2 Ramaraju, Senior DCM P Bhaskar Reddy, Station Director Ch Suresh, Child Line District Coordinator A Ramesh, Railway Childline Coordinator K Srikant and others were present.
