Speaking at a review meeting with the district police and revenue officials at the Collectorate here on Saturday, the Home Minister said that the incident at Dacheaplli was unfortunate. Apart from stringent punishment to the guilty, appropriate measure would be taken to avert incidents of such nature in future.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that necessary instructions were issued to the police department to investigate such incidents at a brisk pace in order to award speedy punishment to the guilty.

Chinarajappa said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has taken the initiative for creation of more awareness at state-level among public after the Dachepalli incident.
Rallies would be taken out and awareness programmes would be conducted across the state, he said

Anti-social elements, who indulge in intimidation and harassment, would be taken into custody immediately, he said.He said that four special vans would be pressed into service to identify such activities in East Godavari district for safeguarding the interests of women and girls.

Collector Kartikeya Mishra, Superintendent of Police Vishal Gunni, Rajamahendravaram sub-collector Srikanth Varma, Ramopachodavaram sub-collector Vinod Kumar, additional joint collector J Radhakrishna Murty, Mayor S Pavani and others were present.
