Kakinada: The four accused in alleged attempt to rape a minor girl at Thammayyapeta under Kathipudi police station limits in East Godavari were remanded to 15 days judicial custody. Of the four, three accused K Srinivasa Rao, Ravi and Satyanarayna were arrested on Friday. The fourth accused Pavan fled to Warangal. The rape attempt was made on Wednesday night by the four said to be under the influence of alcohol.

According to Tondangi circle inspector G Chenna Kesava Rao, the police tracked the movements of fourth accused Pavan and forced him to surrender on Saturday. The case attained significance as the prime accused K Srinivasa Rao is actively associated with TDP and his wife K Sandhya is an elected MPTC member on behalf of TDP from Kathipudi.
