Ananta Venkatarama likely to contest on YSRCP ticket
YSR CP high command has appointed former MP Anantha Venkatarama Reddy as the convenor for the Anantapur Assembly segment. According to party sources, he will be nominated as the candidate for the Anantapur Assembly segment for the 2019 elections.

Anantha Venkatarama Reddy was a four-time member of Parliament during the Congress rule. He joined the YSRCP after the defeat of Congress and contested unsuccessfully from Anantapur MP constituency. He was also appointed as state general secretary for YSRCP.
The YSRCP leadership has decided to field Reddy as its nominee as he is a powerful force to reckon with in the city. It may be recalled that the once YSR loyalist and former MLA Gurunath Reddy had resigned from the party and joined TDP.
