Vijayawada: APNGOs Association chairman P Ashok Babu said that the NGOs would fight for the rights of the Telugu people in Andhra Pradesh and in other states.

He said the Association members would stage dharnas in all districts of the state on Wednesday as part of the fight for the SCS. He was reacting to the allegations levelled by the BJP leaders that NGOs Association leaders campaigned in Karnataka at the behest of Telugu Desam Party.

Speaking to reporters at the APNGOs Association hall here on Tuesday, he said the allegations levelled by the BJP leaders that the leaders went to Bengaluru to take part in the campaign at the behest of Telugu Desam government was incorrect.

He said only 150 members went to Bengaluru following the request of Andhra Pradesh HakkulaPorata Samiti. Ashok Babusaid the government employees in many states of the country fight for the rights of their people.

He categorically made it clear that NGOs are ready to fight for the rights of people of AP. The employees would be affected severely if the state suffers loss. The Association has felt it was not correct to launch agitation in the state as the state is gradually recovering from the impact of bifurcation.
