Housing cost doubled for poor under TDP rule, alleges Jagan

Vijayawada: YSRCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy alleged that the state government had increased the house site cost from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 6 lakh under housing scheme. He said the YSRCP will waive Rs 3 lakh to the beneficiaries if the party voted to power in Assembly elections. Jagan continued the Praja Sankalpa Yatra on the 155th day on Monday in Gudivada.

Addressing a public meeting in the town, the YSRCP said the Congress government had allotted house plots to the beneficiaries for only Rs 3 lakh but now the TDP government had increased the cost to Rs 6 lakh.

He alleged that Chief Minister Naidu was taking back the lands which were allotted to the poor by former chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy. Alleging that the TDP rule was full of corruption, he blamed the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of not taking measures to check it.

He said that farmers in the state are saying that under the TDP regime, water was not available for both kharif and rabi crops. He recalled that farmers had plenty of water during YSR’s rule.

He said Pulichintala project works were going on at brisk pace when Rajasekhar Reddy was the Chief Minister but the state had to forgo 45 tmc ft water from the project as Naidu had not paid Rs 145 crore to Telangana state. He flayed the Chief Minister for boasting about irrigation projects but doing nothing to complete the main irrigation projects.

Expressing concern over farmers not getting minimum support price (MSP) for paddy and black gram, he said the farmers were burning the crop in despair. He said that even the aqua farmers are not getting profits in the state, he lamented.
