Tirupati: The outsourcing security staff at Ruia Hospital in Tirupati have protested for not being paid their salaries on time. Getting salaries once in three or four months, sometimes even once in six months, has become a routine practice for them.

Though the staff have been facing hardships due to irregular payments, they could not come out openly due to lack of security to their posts. They staged dharna before the Administrative building of Ruia Hospital on Monday.

Ruia Hospital in Tirupati catering to the needs of not only the people of Chittoor district but also to other Rayalaseema districts and Nellore. ‘Jai Balaji Security Services’ provide security staff on outsourcing basis.

It was agreed between them to provide 125 security staff on shift system and pay them salary, ESI and PF as per government norms. But, the said security agency was said to be violating the agreement and utilising the services of 95 persons only though they claim all allowances and salaries for 125 people.

On the other hand, the security staff said that in places like Kurnool, Srikakulam etc., the outsourcing staff were getting Rs.8000 per month whereas in Ruia they have been getting only Rs.6500.

Even in Tirupati, at SV Vedic University the security staff have been getting Rs.7500 though the same security agency took the contract there. The President of the Security Staff Association at Ruia hospital Kishore has said that, they get their last ESI and PF in November 2017 and got six months salaries in February.

Again, they did not get salaries for March and April. “After our dharna, hospital RMO assured us that one month salary will be credited on Monday itself and it was fulfilled.
