Women protection rally evokes good response
A rally organised by the district administration from Tummalapalli Kalakshetram to IGMC Stadium here in the city on Monday, as part of the statewide campaign ‘Aadabiddalaku Rakshanaga Kadhuludaam’ evoked huge response as thousands of people from various walks of life enthusiastically participated.

Thousands of women particularly the school and college girl students holding placards marched behind Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who actively participated in the rally after flagging off at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram.
The state government has instructed the district collectors to conduct rallies in all districts after the rape incident in Dachepalli of Guntur district recently. Ministers Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and Kollu Ravindra; MPs Kesineni Srinivas and Konakalla Narayana; ZP Chairperson Gadde Anuradha, District Collector B Lakshmikantham, city Mayor Koneru Sridhar, Commissioner of Police D Gowtam Sawang, members of Mahila Mitras, DWCRA group members, representatives and volunteers of NGOs have participated in the rally.
The district administration has made arrangements for the meeting addressed by the Chief Minister. Rallies were also taken out from Swarajya Maidan and Siddhartha Arts and Science College in Mogalrajpuram. Thousands of people mostly youth and women participated in the rally.
The participants raised slogans demanding to put an end to the crime against the women and sought stern punishment to the rapists and perpetrators of crime. Later, the Chief Minister has inspected the exhibition organised to create awareness among the women on their rights at the IGMC Stadium.
