Chandrababu Naidu aims to turn AP an innovation valley 

Amaravati: Expressing his strong desire that Andhra Pradesh be developed as innovation valley, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu wanted district collectors to adopt innovative practices to achieve better results in administration.

Addressing at the start of second day of the Collectors’ Conference at Undavalli on Wednesday, the Chief Minister spoke of state’s fruitful efforts in the IT sector. He said, “Cyberabad was a result of a similar revolution back then, and the results are there for everyone to see,” he said.

He showered praise on district collectors stating that the state achieved progress in all sectors due to the best team of officials. Stating that there is no dearth of intelligence in the state, he wanted to set up innovation centres in all departments and predicted that AP would emerge as number one in the country.

“The use of IT in our governance in unmatched. No one in the country is implementing ideas like ours. If all the verticals of the government are integrated and work as a team, we can create history. E-Pragati too follows this principle, and will help us change the way that a government functions.

The data we are recording is wealth for tomorrow. Every new and emerging technology runs on data, and we have successfully been saving crucial data of the people of the state,” he said.

The Chief Minister stressed the need for developing knowledge economy as it leads to all round development of state. “We are even building an entire city from scratch collaborating with the world’s best architects.

We are adopting modern technologies and policies in urban planning using best practises from all over the world. Singapore, in particular, has been a huge inspiration and support, sharing their skill and expertise in urban planning, technology and infrastructure,” he said.

He urged collectors, secretaries and ministers to aim towards effective implementation of all government initiatives in the state. Andhra Pradesh is being watched by the country, and by the world, he said.

He asked the district collectors to improve coordination among officials right from village level to achieve better results. He wanted collectors to use Real Time Governance platform to resolve problems of people and increase satisfaction levels.

Citing availability of panchayat raj information on mobile app, the Chief Minister advised the officials to simplify the procedures to make available all the information through mobile apps. He stressed the need for improving digital literacy.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that virtual classrooms would be introduced in 4,000 high schools in the state by June and a target was set to introduce virtual classrooms in 6,000 schools by August 15
