Amaravati: The State government revealed that the Information Technology (IT) sector generated 26,478 jobs during the last four years against the target of 1 lakh jobs.

Principal Secretary for IT K Vijayanand (ITE&C) presented the progress of IT, Electronics and Communications Department during the Collectors’ conference on Wednesday. Vijayanand said that the total committed jobs was 1,31,004 in IT and the targeted jobs was 1 lakh (from June 2014 to December 2018). But the actual employment generated between June 2014 and April 2018 is 26,476.

He also said the total committed investment from June 2014 to April 2018 was Rs 9,770.27 crore in IT but the actual investment was Rs 1,765 crore. The above data also covered Partnership Summit 2018.

Similarly, the committed investment was Rs 24.802 crore in electronics and committed employment was 82,750. But the jobs realised so far was 13,900.

He said 415 services were currently in operation under Mee Seva in 7,911 centres and urged Collectors to establish new centres in all gram panchayats. He also said that all districts should avail the services and establish centres for AP cyber security operations.

CEO of E-Pragati N Balasubramanyam said that the core platform E-Pragati would be fully operational by May 15 and the Higher Education portal would be brought online by June 30.

The next step of the rollout planned involves the departments, including Panchayat Raj, R&B, Higher Education and Agriculture Marketing on E-Pragathi platform. He also informed the Chief Minister that analytics were under progress for the Department of Women and Child Welfare for malnutrition analysis and high risk pregnancy.

Real Time Governance CEO Ahmed Babu said that citizen satisfaction levels have gone up from 66% to 74%. Guntur and Krishna are the districts with the highest satisfaction levels. He said 1.13 crore grievances have been raised in all districts, and efforts were being made by collectors to resolve them. Equipment for virtual classrooms has been completely installed and integrated in 990 schools.

The Chief Minister said that RTG was a huge asset to the State. “Not only is it helping us save lives and respond to distress calls, but it plays a major role in checking corruption. This is the path to good governance,” he added.

The RTG CEO said 7,700 locations have been identified and set up for the installation of CCTV cameras and 29 cameras have been installed in Polavaram, whose live feed can be used by the Police and Irrigation departments.

Director of Tourism Himamshu Shukla said the department aims to complete the allotment of 25,000 rooms by 2020 and 15,000 rooms by December this year. He said 5 integrated tourism zones have been identified, including Bhavani Islands, Kakinada, Madhurawada, Srisailam and Gandikota. The Chief Minister said that the department must move closer to a target of 1 lakh rooms.
