Lands acquired for reality business: MLA
YSRCP MLA Y Isaiah came down heavily on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for not fulfilling the promise of transforming Orvakal into industrial corridor even after three years of laying foundation for industrial zone in 2015.

Naidu has even assured of generating employment to 10,000 unemployed graduates by setting up factories in and around Orvakal, the MLA said, adding he failed to stand on his promise. He is acquiring valuable lands in the name of setting up industries and factories.
At the later stage, he will do real estate business, he alleged. Around 1,200 acres of land has been acquired at Thangadancha village and laid foundation stone for setting up of Jain Irrigation and Ambuja Cement industries.
But, the management of Jain irrigation has withdrawn their agreement for not having sufficient water resources. It is learnt that the Jain Irrigation had sought 10 lakh gallons of water every day for starting the production.
With the water shortage, they shelved the project, the MLA claimed. Isaiah has stated that foundation stone was laid for the construction of mega seed park in an extent of 600 acres. Till date, no park works were taken up in Thangadancha, he slammed.
CPM city leader Anji Babu said that Naidu has made several promises to Kurnool but none of his promises were fulfilled even after 4 years in power. The unemployed youth were lured by jobs at mega solar park at Shakunala and Ghani villages in Orvakal mandal. But, they were disappointed, he said. The displaced villagers are still fighting to get compensation from the government, he stated.
The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) Zonal Manager G Raghunath Reddy said that Ispat Jayraj Steel factory was allocated an extent of 415 acres. They are in need of another 585 acres that is yet to be acquired.
Around 7,259 acres was acquired for setting up industries at Orvakal. Apart from Jayraj Ispat, two more companies have entered into Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government, the official said.
