Reduce petrol prices, CPM demands
The CPM central committee leader MA Gafoor demanded the Central government to reduce the petrol and diesel prices. Earlier, the party activists and leaders took out a huge rally and burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Collectorate here on Tuesday.

Addressing the party workers, Gafoor said that the BJP-led NDA government has been burdening the common man by hiking the petrol and diesel prices. He alleged that the prices have been hiked for 14 times after the NDA government came to power. The CPM leader said there is no reason in hiking the oil prices as the crude oil rate has fell steeply in the international market.
He asked the Union government to bring petrol and diesel under the GST. “If the Centre did not mend its attitude then it has to face the consequences,” he warned. Gafoor stated both Narendra Modi and Chandrababu were responsible for the petrol price hike.
He further said that the party would intensify protests till the government responds to their demands. K Prabhakar Reddy, Pulla Reddy, Anji Babu and other party leaders and activists participated in the rally.
