Bhoomi puja performed for success of Mahanadu
Andhra Pradesh Telugu Desam unit president Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao and several senior leaders of the party performed Bhoomi Puja at Siddhartha Engineering College grounds here on Thursday, the venue for three-day Mahanadu conducted in Vijayawada from May 27 to 29.

A special puja was performed by Vedic pundits to organise the event successfully. Ministers Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Kollu Ravindra, MLCs T D Janardhan, Y B Rajendra Prasad, B Venkanna, B Arjunudu and several leaders were present.
Over two lakh sq ft space has been reserved in the college for Mahanadu and 50,000 sq ft area has been earmarked for the photo exhibition and blood donation camp. The remaining space would be allotted for the visitors to sit comfortably. The dais would be set up with 60 metres length and 120 metres width to accommodate 250 VIPs.
The meeting would pass 14 resolutions including one on the Special Category Status for the state. On the other hand, the meeting would also discuss 18 unresolved issues of the state as per the AP Reorganisation Act. The meet would also discuss and pass resolutions for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao said the Mahanadu would give a direction to the rank and file of party in view of ensuing elections. The state government is ready to sort out unresolved issues with the Centre if it comes forward with an action plan. MLC TD Janardhan said that various issues would be discussed at Mahanadu. He also reviewed with the officials over the parking arrangements.
