Amaravati: The TDP is preparing to make a strong pitch for the ensuing general elections at the party conclave Mahanadu to be held from May 27 to 29 in Vijayawada. Party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu has prepared two-fold approach for this meeting since it is an election year.

  • Plans to organise Telugu Desam Legislature Party meeting at his residence at Undavalli on Friday
  • Reviews performance of elected representatives including recently held cycle rallies and Dalitha Tejam

In the meeting, Naidu will first focus on creating awareness among cadre on the developmental programmes and welfare schemes initiated by the TDP government in the state from last four years. His second priority is to create confidence in the cadre by attacking the Opposition parties.

The party also decided to focus on collusive politics of opposition parties including the BJP, YSRCP and Jana Sena in the Mahanadu regarding Andhra Pradesh. On the other hand, the conclave will also discuss the failures of Telangana state government in implementing various welfare programmes.

Meanwhile, Naidu is going to organise Telugu Desam Legislature Party meeting on Friday at his residence at Undavalli in Guntur, to discuss various issues including Mahanadu, cycle rallies, Dalitha Tejam, public meeting with Muslim minorities in Guntur on May 14, performance review of the MLAs, MLCs, MPs and other leaders and others.

A senior leader in the party observed that the 2019 general election would likely witness a tough fight among three regional parties in the state. Since the YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy intensified criticism on TDP government in the state during his ongoing Praja Sankalpa Padayatra, the TDP high command has been planning to give a befitting reply to the party.

The TDP has prepared an agenda on “YSRCP+BJP = Collusive politics” to attack on both these parties. In the party meeting, Naidu will explain the TDP cadre how the Prime Minister Narendra Modi violated the promises given in the last general elections to the state.

The party also prepared the chronology of events exposing indirect support to the BJP by YSRCP at various occasions particularly from last two-and-half years.

They include Jaganmohan Reddy’s statement that YSRCP would give unconditional support to BJP for President of India elections, Jagan’s meeting with Ramnath Kovind before he was named as President of India candidate by the BJP, Union government’s last budget appreciation by YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy, confidence expressed by the Vijayasai Reddy on Narendra Modi that he only could give Special Category Status to AP, Vijayasai Reddy’s pictures in the PM’s office, Union ministers comments on the political developments in the state, YSRCP’s Nayavanchana Deeksha in Visakhapatnam against the TDP’s Nammaka Droham- Kutra Rajakeeyalu in Tirupati last month.

In the meeting, the party president also will explain the cadre that the TDP was the only party in the state which had been fighting against the Central government demanding justice to the state, the TDP leaders explained.

The leaders hoped the Mahanadu meeting will attract some more leaders from YSRCP and BJP as it is the election year and It will also prevent leaders who are planning to leave the TDP.
